Discover cyanotype – an enchanting, ancient photographic technique where you create blue-white prints using sunlight. During this 2 to 2.5-hour workshop, you will make your own light-sensitive paper and create prints from natural finds such as leaves, flowers, seaweed, or feathers. After practical instruction, there is plenty of room to experiment on your own. Be inspired by the wild garden of Atelier Kleurenzee and the nature of Terschelling – and take your own, self-made island prints home with you. The workshop takes place in the garden of Atelier Kleurenzee, in a small group of a maximum of 6 people. What can you expect? 🔹 Introduction to the cyanotype technique 🔹 Making your own light-sensitive paper 🔹 Working with natural shapes from the surroundings 🔹 Rinsing, drying, and admiring – taking your own island prints home! Tip! This workshop is also held at 'De natuurschuur' in Lies! We need daylight for this workshop; it cannot take place in rainy or heavily overcast weather. Although aprons are available, there is a risk of spills while blueprinting. We therefore recommend not wearing light-colored or new clothing. The minimum age for this workshop is 12 years.

Atelier Kleurenzee is Kim Zuidema's workplace, where paint, canvas, paper and sunlight are used. Paintings, blueprints and illustrations are created here - free work and custom assignments - with the nature of Terschelling as a source of inspiration. In addition, workshops (including painting and blueprints) are given to children and adults in which participants are given the space to discover, create and enjoy the creative process.
