From the parking lot of Heartbreak hotel you drive along the beach to the Boschplaat. We stop at the drowning house for a short break with coffee and tea. From the beach bus you have a wide view of the beach and its surroundings. Exciting stories about ship strandings, salvages and rescues provide an idea of how the islanders have lived on and off the beach for the last 100 years. The beach is more than a strip of sand, it is alive. The currents, wind and tide create a changing beach every day. This daily changing landscape has a wealth of natural beauty.
