
The UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea is turning 17, and this will be celebrated on Saturday, June 27, during the Day of the Wadden. Visit Wadden, together with the Wadden Association and local entrepreneurs, is organizing a breakfast on the dike at various locations in the Wadden area. On Terschelling, Chef Flang will be serving breakfast at a unique location on the Wadden. You will start the day with a breakfast table full of local products, while a Wadden guide takes you on a journey through the story of the Wadden Sea World Heritage. What makes the Wadden Sea so special that it holds UNESCO status? What does it mean? And what is the importance of the Wadden Sea on a global scale? After breakfast, there will be an opportunity to experience the area accompanied by the guide. Taste and experience the Wadden. Together, we celebrate the birthday of the Wadden Sea.

Waddendijk Crossing Lies Oosterboutenweg. Come by bike to the crossing at the end of Oosterboutenweg in Lies, on the dike.
From 08:30 to 10:30. After breakfast, there is an excursion where you can join a guide from the Wadden Association out onto the mudflats. Clothing advice The activity takes place in the morning. Check the weather forecast beforehand and bring enough (warm) clothing. During the second part of the program, you will head out to discover the Wadden. So, do not wear your newest shoes, but opt for an outdoor alternative. In case of bad weather, the program will move to an indoor location. Breakfast will then also take place indoors.
