Chisa Kitagawa Based on the music competitions she won, the Japanese violinist Chisa Kitagawa belongs to the absolute top of the youngest generation. With Chausson's penetrating Poème, Grieg's Third Violin Sonata, Beethoven's Romance No. 2 and Respighi's rarely played Sonata, Kitagawa opts for a series of works that are as compelling as they are demanding. The Japanese violinist, who won the prestigious Beethoven International Violin Competition, among other things, proves in the Meslânzer church in Midsland on Terschelling that not only the level of the current generation of young musicians is unprecedentedly high, but also that she has daring and a very mature imagination. Ottorino Respighi The Italian composer Ottorino Respighi is best known for orchestral works such as Fontane di Roma and Pini di Roma. His chamber music therefore receives little attention. Yet Respighi was also a great and colorful composer on a smaller scale. He wrote eight string quartets, a piano sonata and two sonatas for violin and piano. His Sonata in B is an atmospheric work that rivals his symphonic poems and excels in melodic richness. Chisa Kitagawa is now impressively defending this work. Program: Chisa Kitagawa, violin (Japan) Natsumi Ohno, piano (Japan)
