Join Eco Safari Terschelling on a litter-collecting safari in collaboration with the Wadden Association. Help clean up the coast and experience the wilderness of the island of Terschelling. You'll travel in a whisper-quiet electric all-terrain vehicle along unpaved paths. You'll travel through the dunes and forests to a secluded beach to collect litter. Nature guides will accompany you on this adventurous journey. Pure nature In the early morning or at dusk, there are few people, and you'll experience nature at its peak. Birds and other animals are easy to observe from the electric all-terrain vehicles. Rabbits, deer, or a flying hen harrier. Nature guides know exactly where to look for wildlife in the dunes and forests of Terschelling. We observe from a safe distance and don't disturb anyone. Binoculars are available. Litter-collecting The litter-collecting safari route is tailored to the location with the most litter at any given time. When there's little waste, we'll use a sieve to search for the tiniest bits of plastic hidden everywhere on and in the sand. This way, you'll help clean the coast where it's needed most, taking vulnerable areas and periods into account. While collecting, we'll highlight the problem of plastic waste and also highlight special natural finds. Drive Yourself You'll drive an electric all-terrain vehicle yourself. You'll receive instructions beforehand. A guide will accompany you in a separate vehicle. All routes are coordinated in advance with the forest rangers of Staatsbosbeheer (State Forestry Commission). Caution! Animals can be frightened by brightly colored clothing. Please be aware of this. Also, dress warmly and weatherproof. The vehicles are open. During the ride, you'll sit still and cool down quickly. Discover the Terschelling wilderness and join us in collecting for a clean coast!
