Sunset Sail

An impressive sailing trip on the clipper Willem Jacob or the stevenaak Minerva. Both ships are over 100 years old. We sail in the evening from West Terschelling towards the Wadden Sea or the North Sea. You can help with the sailing, and you might even spot a seal. With a clear sky, you can count the stars. We depart from the harbor at 7:00 PM and will return around 10:00 PM. You can pre-order dinner. For €23 per person, you can enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared meal made with local ingredients by our professional chef. For an optimal sailing and dining experience, you are expected on board at 6:30 PM.

Location

The ship is moored at the jetty nearby or opposite the tourist office in West-Terschelling.

Important to know

We depart from the harbor at 19:00 and will be back around 22:00. It is possible to dine on board beforehand. You book the dinner in addition to the trip. You can then come on board at 17:30 for a delicious, freshly prepared meal using local products. Children aged 12 and under must wear a life vest. These are available on board.

De zeiltocht op de Willem Jacob was er een uit de buitenklasse. Wij hadden er ook de maaltijd bijgeboekt en werden met een lekkere maaltijd ontvangen op het historische schip. Daarna werden de zeilen gehesen en voeren we de avond in. Aanvankelijk was het weer wat saai en regenachtig, maar later werden we toch verrast met een prachtig zonsondergang. Dat, in combinatie met het ruisen van de zee en af en toe klapperen van het zeil, was een unieke belevenis.

We werden hartelijk ontvangen op de Minerva, ervaren kapitein en matroos die iedereen betrok bij het hijsen van de zeilen - tenzij je dat zelf niet wilde! Heerlijk ontspannen. Hoewel er bij ons weinig wind was hebben we een schitterende oranje zonsondergang kunnen meemaken.

The sailing Wadden timetable. Go island hopping on the Wadden Sea aboard a historic sailing clipper. You can choose between different options. You can spend a day on Vlieland from Ameland to Terschelling or from Terschelling, and even sail along for several days. The Willem Jacob's round trip along the Wadden Islands starts every Saturday in Lauwersoog. The Minerva starts from Harlingen. Island hopping brings us to Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland, and Schiermonnikoog. In addition to the timetable between the ports of departure, there are also various cruises from the Wadden Islands. We have already put together several multi-day trips for you.
