Historical walking tour with guide Cor van der Pol. Cor shares history and anecdotes along historical landmarks, such as Het Wakend Oog, the Brandaris lighthouse, the old cemetery, Commandeurshuizen, Westerkerk, and the Mennonite church (Vermaning). During the 2 km walk, you will receive a wealth of information. Topics covered include the Great Fire of 1666, shipwrecks (particularly the sinking of the West-Aleta 100 years ago), rescues and salvage operations, beachcombing, and the sinking of the gold ship Lutine. Juicy and tall tales are also included. There is also a sitting session in the church during the walk. The duration of the excursion is about 2 hours.
