Sailing to Vlieland and explore Vlieland. Sail along to Vlieland. Spend an afternoon on this island and sail back to Terschelling in the evening. The Willem Jacob is a 130 year old sailing clipper. In the past it sailed with freight, especially on the Rhine. But nowadays the ship is suitable for sailing day trips on the Wadden Sea. From the outside, the historical character has been preserved as much as possible. Inside, the ship is luxuriously and comfortably furnished. Sailing is still done in the old-fashioned way: manually (sailing). It doesn't mean you can lounge on the deck all the time. Something really needs to be done. Like hoist sails, raise swords and tack. But there is still plenty of time along the way to watch seals, for example - if we come across them. Departure at 9.30 am, on Vlieland at noon and return around 6.30 pm, departure from Vlieland and approx. 9 pm arrival at the port of West-Terschelling. On Tuesday the departure from Vlieland is at 4.30 pm and back to Terschelling around 6.30 pm!
