Livestock market in Midsland. De Beestemerk, the original market for livestock farmers, was brought back to life in 1978. The market is still held on the second Thursday in September.
Farmers who supply livestock compete for different prizes. For example, there is 'the Piet van Simon cup' for the furthest away cattle merchant and 'the Clipper cup' for the lightest hoofed animal.
