The distances are 5 and 10 kilometers and you walk on a beautiful nature trail through the forests of West.
The start and finish are at Hotel Boschrijck. Afterwards there is free coffee with Terschellinger pound cake.
Fire pits provide warmth and cosiness and there is a memory for all participants afterwards.
You can register in advance, but also - as long as supplies last - on the day itself from 8.45 a.m.
There is a changing room at the hotel and Ieders Plak, the sports center behind the hotel. There is no shower.
Because there are still restrictive measures in force, it will be a different Kleintje Berenloop than usual. For example, start and finish will be separated from each other to ensure optimal flow and maximum mutual space for all participants. The start for both the 5 and 10 kilometers will also take place in phases (= intermittently). To avoid fast runners constantly having to catch up with the less fast runners on the road, we therefore ask you to indicate your expected (and real) end time when registering. That way we can organize everyone as optimally as possible at the start. We would also like to know if you are already on the island on Friday or if you come on Saturday morning.
Because of that phased start - which is a condition for the permit - Kleintje Berenloop is not a competition this year, but a performance run. This means that there is timekeeping and a final result, but that no prizes are awarded afterwards. Of course everyone will receive a medal and (if ordered) a running shirt. This setup also fits in with the idea that it is currently more important to stay healthy and fit than to deliver a heavy performance.
Furthermore, it is good to know that if the event cannot go ahead, you will receive the registration fee after deduction of the costs incurred. That means the full 100% minus 5 euros administration costs until 1 September anyway. We are also unable to increase the registration amount by 5 euros because of all the extra measures we have to take in the field of hygiene, logistics, permits, etc. We hope for your understanding.
For us it means that we are in fact organizing a completely new event, and we will be working hard on this in the coming months, in close consultation with all authorities. We hope to make it a great running weekend with you!
You can register until 1 October 2020 or until the limit is reached. You will receive starting ticket about two weeks before the event.

Map & surrounding area
As the boat turns into the harbour, you meet West-Terschelling, the gateway to your destination Terschelling. The Brandaris lighthouse, which stands as a beacon here in the middle of Terschelling’s biggest village, has been greeting seafarers since 1594. It is a lively place, with museums, shops, bars, dance halls, restaurants, hotels, wellness, a swimming pool, and the VVV Tourist Office.
In West, all the elements literally come together; it is where the sea licks the land. Then there is the ‘fire’ in the manned Brandaris lighthouse, which lights up the skies, surrounded by the scents of the mudflats. Every flavour and taste imaginable can be found in the shops and restaurants.
