The name 'De Kooi' refers to the duck decoys that have been located in this area. In 1930 it was decided to plant trees on and around the dune to prevent drifting. The trees have now been felled again and the Arjensduin is covered with marram grass. From the viewpoint on the dune you look out over the dunes of Terschelling. On top of the dune you have a beautiful view of the dune lake of Hee, campsites and Hee. Arjensduin is located from the west behind the dune lake of Hee. A walking route runs across this dune with a view of the lake.
