Staatsbosbeheer wants to promote the diversity of plants and animals by means of more dynamics and influence of wind and sea. That is why we let the dunes drift again between pole 16 and pole 20, without fixing the sand. The result is that the row of dunes becomes wider and in some places also higher: the tight row of dunes along the beach has been changed on the spot into a varied dune strip with extensive drifting plains and low and high parts.
