A cozy café with regular live music performances. Jan and Conny have been running Muziekcafé De Vijfpoort in Formerum since 2004. The café was built in 1969, as an extension of Pension De Vijfpoort, which Jan's parents Teake and Bartha de Jong had built in 1959. De Vijfpoort was one of the first guest houses on Terschelling. The name Vijfpoort comes from the monastery of the same name that stood in Formerum in earlier times. This summer (2023) there will be a dance evening every Wednesday for young and old, on July 19 and 26, and August 1 and 8.
