A cozy café with regular live music performances. Jan and Conny have been running Muziekcafé De Vijfpoort in Formerum since 2004. The café was built in 1969 as an extension of Pension De Vijfpoort, which was established in 1959 by Jan's parents, Teake and Bartha de Jong. De Vijfpoort was one of the first guesthouses on Terschelling. The name Vijfpoort refers to the monastery of the same name that once stood in Formerum. During the summer months of July and August, the café is open almost every Wednesday and Saturday evening.
