Het Lutine Monument

In 1799 the English war frigate Lutine was wrecked between Vlieland and Terschelling. 269 of the 270 on board perished. The monument of this ship consists of two cannons and an anchor from the shipwreck. In 2005, the Sporen in het Zand foundation relocated the monument with a glass nautical chart and plaque that tell more about the Lutine. The monument stands at the foot of the Maritime Academy.
