Introduction
The owner of the Stipe is André. He is a grandson of the famous 'Aunt Doortje'. She opened the very first campsite on Terschelling just after the war. Camping "Tante Doortje" still exists but is now called camping "Dennedune" and is located 100 meters from De Stipe. Although André did not grow up on Terschelling, he spent 'endless' holidays every summer with his grandmother Doortje, who lived in the front house of the farm of which the Stipe is now part.
Tips from the host
There is a lot to do in and around Hoorn. Walking in the Hoorn forest and the surrounding dunes. Collecting mussels and oysters on the Wadden Sea. You can be on the beach of Hoorn in 10 minutes. The Boschplaat is also not far away. In Hoorn you can rent a horse or book a covered wagon trip to Boschplaat. And the rest of the island is of course also within reach.
