Chalet Koggediep is located on a quiet campsite, the Tjallen, located in the center of Hoorn. Within walking distance of forest and dunes. Hoorn is located east of Lies and west of Oosterend. Characteristic is the medieval church. The Sint Janskerk was built in the 13th century, making it the oldest church on Terschelling. 'De Sjouw' hangs next to the church. This time ball was hoisted to let the workers in the area know that it was time for dinner. Hoorn is an elongated village with originally scattered farms and houses. One of the oldest buildings in the village is the Strandvonderijschuur, still in almost its original state. In the past, the salvaged items were stored here. Nowadays you will find a number of shops, restaurants and visiting farms. Hoorn also has a number of striking places and people. One of the striking residents was Jean Dulieu, the creator of Paulus the Forest Gnome. The exciting gnome path is now located on the forest side of Hoorn.
